I stand alone
Drenching myself from head to toe
There’s nowhere to go.
I sense you in the skies I see
And yearn for you to rain on me.
As trickling droplets
Surf every inch
I feel your fingers run over me
Speaking through unspoken words.
The fresh green leaves shine me shy
In the blowing breeze; shivering with joy.
I drink you through drops
Beating on my mouth,
Sip you from the crevices in my lips.
For ages high and dry,
I gaze between the earth and sky
Coming down on my knees.
Go on and rain on me.
The wet mud runs
In my breath
Your essence tickles within.
Dancing in the puddles
I see your reflection in,
Trying to shed illusions.
But now you’ve seeped inside
And the soft dribble of water brings whispers
You sent to me from miles away.
Thunder and rain merge
My tremble and ecstasy.
As you rain on me.
